Tech Notes
The semi-machined version of the 72cc heads must be finished by a professional head porter. The heads come with valve guides and seats installed without intake pushrod holes.
High-flow, D-shaped exhaust ports require Ram Air IV headers or exhaust manifolds.
All factory accessory bosses are included for bolt-on convenience.
Installation requires Edelbrock head bolt kit #350-8556.
A 72cc chamber version for high-compression, racing applications. Heads have Ram Air IV exhaust port flanges. Requires head bolt kit #350-8556 for cylinder heads manufactured before 3/15/02. For cylinder heads manufactured after 3/15/02 bolt kit #350-8549 will be required.
Tech Tip To gain more spark plug clearance, Edelbrock recommends using Champion RC Series plugs, such as the RC12YC (P/N 192-49776). They are 0.230'' shorter than conventional spark plugs and have a 5/8'' hex for easier access.
